Alexa put the life of a minor at risk with this dangerous challenge

There are a lot of films that have a main theme to artificial intelligence and the negative consequences that this could have in society. According to CNBC, a 10-year-old girl who was alone and boring in her house decided to ask a challenge to Alexa, this in order to put an end to her boredom. Things gave a cloudy and unexpected turn when Alexa suggested doing the Penny Challenge, which consists of connecting a half-cell phone charger to subsequently touch the exposed plugs with a coin.

Needless to say, but doing this challenge could have extremely serious consequences for health, so I have ignored Alexa, the minor could have caused a fire or even losing life or some limb. Amazon He already contacted the family affected by this, and it seems that they are already working on a solution to make sure this does not happen again. A spokesman for the company said the following:

Alexa is designed to provide accurate, relevant and useful information to customers. As soon as we realized this error, we take quick measures to solve it.

In related news, a few weeks ago the news came from that Amazon was about to say goodbye to Alexa in 2022, although they do not refer precisely to this artificial intelligence, but to another service that shares the same name.
